Papadahandi Mini Zoo in Nabarangpur district was initially established as a “Deer Park” in the year 1986. Papadahandi Deer Park was a tiny and timely effort conceived in three decade ago in 1986. The basic idea was to save the fast disappearing population of spotted deer and to educate public regarding wildlife conservation. In fact, it is the only deer park of its kind in this part of tribal dominated South Odisha. It is within the Papadahandi Reserve Forest, having dense Sal growth.
